This project was created as a media intervention, in which I worked within the norms of a media form to make a statement about the platform. I choose clothing advertising as my media form, focusing on the way outdoor gear is marketed. My work features my own photos. I then paired the images with slogans intended to highlight the misconception that necessary outdoor gear must be purchased as a luxury product. My project was inspired by many of Patagonia's advertising campaigns that feature the brand's mission statements rather than a direct promotion of their products.’
